Graduated Fellow

Hee-Joo graduated from Seoul National University College of Pharmacy in 1987 with a BS in Pharmacy and in 1989 with a Masters in Science. She came to America to study Microbiology in a Ph.D. program at Colorado State University in 1990. For unknown reasons, in 1995 she changed her heart to move to a rainy city, Seattle, from a sunny place, Colorado. She worked as a pharmacist in a hospital and a chain drug store before coming to Key Compounding Pharmacy in 1998. She is a South Korean native and enjoys a smile from her daughter Hannah. Hee-Joo is currently pursuing a Fellowship in Anti-Aging, Functional and Regenerative Medicine from the American Academy of Anti-Aging. She hopes to complete her training within the next year or so.

The Rexall Drug Corporation started Key Compounding Pharmacy as a Rexall franchise in 1963. As a neighborhood pharmacy in that era it catered mostly to young families. As the residents in the community aged, home medical equipment and home health care products became essential departments. Insurance billing for these products and services was added for patient ease.

In the early 1990’s many doctors and patients began asking for prescriptions that were natural to the body. They wanted nutritional supplements that would enhance the outcome of their prescriptions. Once again Key Pharmacy responded to the community’s need and began custom compounding prescriptions for individual patients. Instead of offering just one manufactured prescription strength for everyone, now each patient can be matched with the strength that is best for him or her. In the art of extemporaneous compounding, we tailor medicines and dosages to meet patient's specific needs. Rather than matching the patient to the prescription, we match the prescription to the patient.
